CCAS question outline
Guidelines for contributors.

Editors: Viviane G. Nasr and James A. DiNardo

Question format is based on the ABA format. All questions should be multiple-choice, single-best answer consisting of a question stem followed by four options and a keyword. A thorough explanation and references should be provided for each question.  A question stem should be concise, clear, grammatically correct, meaningful in and of itself, and pose a definite problem. The associated question requires reasonable knowledge to answer.

There should be one unambiguous correct answer that is easily validated. Generally, the set of options for an item should all be similar in length, comprise one category (drugs, procedures, diagnoses, etc.), have the same grammatical construction, and be grammatically consistent with the stem. All incorrect options, or distractors, should be plausible and indicative of typical errors. If options are numbers, they should be presented in ascending or descending order.
